The Spirit of the Western
Ever since Thomas Edison conceived the first movie camera in 1888, the "Western" motion picture has provided great entertainment around the world. In the international community few realize that "Western" refers specifically to a vast area in the United States, beginning at the Mississippi River and stretching to the Pacific Ocean. There is no equivalent "Eastern" movie genre.
Whatever is seen in the "Western" refers to a culture defined by these boundaries, and is uniquely
American. The "Western" does not extend to Western Germany or Western Australia. When
you watch a "Western" you are learning the ways of a rare and hardy people. Only a few hundred
thousand people lived in this West of the 19th century, among hundreds of millions around the globe.
In a world no longer capable of living with a common set of values, these "Westerners" have shown the way. High Frontier Ventures Group celebrates these early adventurers by providing entertainment properties endowed with the spirit of the "Western."
